Each survey is unique, therefore the cost will vary according to the requirements necessary to complete the job properly. Below are some of the considerations used in calculating the cost of a survey.
Information made available to the surveyor such as recorded or unrecorded documents or other descriptions of the property
The amount of research of public and private records required to accurately determine the parcel to be surveyed and described
Number of field personnel needed for the particular type of survey
Accessibility to the parcel to be surveyed, and the terrain and type of vegetation present.
Familiarity and experience of the surveyor with the area the survey is located
Amount of off-site surveying necessary to determine the location of the parcel
Number of monuments or other points to be set to complete the survey, and the number of off-site monuments required to be set to control the location of the parcel
Preparation of maps, plats, exhibits and documents as requested by the client or required by applicable state laws
Disputes with neighbors over the location of boundary corners or lines
