Can I surveyor tell me what I own?
A surveyor cannot issue a legal opinion, and therefore is not the final authority as to property ownership. His responsibility is to locate your parcel on the ground as described in the legal description of your land. He may place physical monuments marking the corners of the parcel to provide a visual reference, and may produce a map record of the survey showing the results if requested by the client or required by state law.
